Garret Dillahunt Is Tracking ‘The Gifted’

Character actor and television veteran Garret Dillahunt (The Last House on the Left, Looper) is no stranger to genre TV. In addition to appearing in more prestigious fare like “Deadwood” & “Justified” and more family-friendly stuff like “Raising Hope“. the actor has also shown up in series such as “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles“, “Millennium“, “Alphas” and “The X-Files“. Now he’s adding the X-Men franchise to that list, as he joins the cast of Fox’s “The Gifted“.

Dillahunt has landed the recurring role of Roderick Campbell, aka Ahab (pictured below),  “a mutant researcher contracted by the Sentinel Service and on a morally dubious mission”. Basically, he’s a mutant hunter. It was recently revealed that the series is indeed set within the X-Men Cinematic Universe and takes place during the gap between the happy coda of X-Men: Days of Future Past and the start of Logan. Because of this, the X-Men team isn’t expected to show up, as they are no more!

With the X-Men out of the picture, it makes sense that the world has worsened for mutants. The series will tackle a government registration program, as well as the return of mutant-hunting Sentinels. It will follow an estranged couple as they go on the run with their mutant children, eventually becoming a part of the mutant underground.

The Gifted” is an original TV series set within the world of the X-Men films. It was created by Matt Nix and is produced by Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory, Lauren Shuler-Donner, Simon Kinberg, Bryan Singer, Len Wiseman, and Matt Nix. The series stars Stephen Moyer as ‘Reed Strucker’, Amy Acker as ‘Caitlin Strucker’, Natalie Alyn Lind as ‘Lauren Strucker’, Percy Hynes White as ‘Andy Strucker’, Sean Teale as ‘Marcos Diaz/Eclipse’, Jamie Chung as ‘Clarice Fong/Blink’, Emma Dumont as ‘Lorna Dane/Polaris’, Blair Redford as ‘John Proudstar/Thunderbird’, Coby Bell as ‘Jack Turner’, Garret Dillahunt as ‘Roderick Campbell’, and Elena Satine as ‘Dreamer’.

The Gifted” is set to premiere on Fox this fall on October 2nd, 2017 for a 10 episode first season.
