Fans have been worried ever since an Avengers: Infinity War casting call sheet came out a few weeks back that was sans Tom Holland, our current friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Holland made his debut in the role in Captain America: Civil War last year and will be web-slinging again this summer in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Most, if not all, expected Spider-Man to be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War next year, so a lot of heads were being scratched when that report came out. Worry not, true believers! Holland himself has confirmed to Vogue Italia that he will indeed be appearing in the film(s).
In addition to confirmation on Spider-Man inclusion in the events, The Daily Record recently dropped the bomb that Liv Tyler is expected to be participating during the portions of the shoot taking place in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. Tyler previously played Betty Ross, longtime love of Bruce Banner and daughter of Secretary of Defense Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (William Hurt). Tyler hasn’t appeared in the MCU since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Given that they managed to bring back Hurt after such a long hiatus, it isn’t too much of a stretch to believe that they’ve managed the same with Tyler. Her involvement has not yet been officially confirmed, however.
Filming on Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled companion film is set to commence next month, with production running for the remainder of the year. With filming spread out so much and for so long, a lot of actors will be weaving in and out of the production as they film their scenes for one (or both) of the films. Both Avengers: Infinity War and the still-untitled Avengers 4 are being directed by The Russo Brothers, who previously helmed the last two Captain America films. The scripts are being handled by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, their usual Marvel writing team. Infinity War will arrive in theaters in May 2018, with Avengers 4 hitting a year later in May 2019.
As for the cast, here’s the roster for the films so far…
