Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) has joined on to star in Stem, the upcoming sci-fi/thriller which will be written and directed Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), according to THR. The film will be produced by Blumhouse Productions in association with Goalpost Pictures Australia, per the site, and will shoot in Melbourne.
From the site:
The script is set in a near-future when technology controls nearly all aspects of life and centers on a technophobe (Marshall-Green) who avenges his wife’s murder and his own paralysis-causing injury with the help of an experimental computer chip implant called Stem.
Whannell has written some incredibly solid stuff over the years. I strongly believe that the first Saw is a horror classic and I adore the Insidious films. I’m 100% aboard this project knowing that he’s the guy behind it.
