TV Round-Up: Hive Comes To ‘SHIELD’, Another Joins ‘Legion’

On the smaller news front today, we have two new tidbits about both ABC’s “Agents of SHIELD” and FX’s “Legion“.  First on deck, we finally have confirmation as to who exactly villainous former-SHIELD agent-turned-Hydra-stooge Grant Ward (Bret Dalton) is becoming.  It was hinted awhile back that the showrunners would be tying him to the evil parasitic organism known in the comics as Hive.  Showrummer Maurissa Tancharoen, per an interview with The Nerdist, has finally made it official…

“[Hive] is going to have its own unique twist and be very different from what fans have seen so far. We will see similarities that pay homage to the original character, but fans will see that Hive is taking an exciting new direction in the world of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

That certainly sounds like a fun new direction for Ward and a great opportunity for Dalton to chew more scenery.  The series returns a week from today.  It will reclaim its usual timeslot from “Agent Carter“, whose season finale airs tonight.

Moving on, Noah Hawley’s X-Men spin-off series for FX, “Legion“, has added another cast member.  Deadline is reporting that Katie Aselton has been cast in the role of ‘Amy’ on the series.  Sadly, no further details about her role are available at this time.  Aselton is probably best known for her role as ‘Jenny’ on “The League“.
