According to Deadline, Matt Lanter (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”) has been cast as one of the leads in “Time“, a potential NBC series hailing from the creative minds of Eric Kripke (“Supernatural”) and Shawn Ryan (“The Shield“). Still in the pilot phase, the science fiction adventure series is gearing up for production in the hopes of a greelight for the fall TV season. Lanter will be playing one of the series’ three heroes. Abigail Spencer was cast not long ago as the female lead.
“Time” is described a…
“Back to the Future meets Mission: Impossible.” It is a high-octane drama following an unlikely trio who travel through time to battle a master criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results.
It sounds a bit like “Legends of Tomorrow“, but with the dynamic flipped: The Rip Hunter-esque figure bent on changing time is the villain and a team of heroes must put a stop to it. It’s certainly an intriguing premise and one with a lot of promise, especially given the talent involved. The pilot has been co-scripted by both Kripke and Ryan. Both will executive produce the prospective series, alongside John Davis, John Fox, and Marney Hochman. The pilot will reportedly be directed by Neil Marshall (Doomsday, Centurion).
