Marvel’s ‘Most Wanted’ Lands A Synopsis

Ever since it was announced as their third Marvel series, I’ve been curious as to what the set-up for “Most Wanted” would be.  We already knew that it would be a spin-off of “Agents of SHIELD” and that it was expected to be a Mr. & Mrs. Smith-esque action couple series, but that’s still some pretty vague information to go on.  Lucky for us, ABC has finally issued an official synopsis for the potential series…

MARVEL’S MOST WANTED (aka Mockingbird)
Studio: Marvel Television
Team: Jeffrey Bell (w, ep), Paul Zbyszewski (w, ep), Jeph Loeb (ep), Jim Chory (ep)
Logline: Centers on Bobbi Morse (a.k.a. Mockingbird) and Lance Hunter of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., two ex-spies and ex-spouses who are on the run with no friends, no S.H.I.E.L.D. and a long list of enemies looking to claim a bounty on their heads. Able to trust no one but each other, Bobbi and Hunter form an uneasy alliance with Dominic Fortune, a rogue adventurer with a wealth of resources and even more adversaries, who agrees to protect them so long as they help him with his own agenda. These two heroes will help anyone in need, all while trying to uncover the conspiracy that put their own lives in jeopardy.
Cast: Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood, Delroy Lindo

Now that’s more like it.  So it’s basically “Charlie’s Angels“, but with Dominic Fortune as Charlie and Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse and Lance Hunter as his super-spy team?  Consider me intrigued.  Palicki and Blood are already a great duo on “SHIELD” and having them move over to their own series to work under Delroy Lindo sounds like fun to me.

The really interesting part, however, is the hints that the above synopsis drops for what is to come later this season on “SHIELD“.  What are Morse and Blood on the run for?  Who has framed them and what are they accused of doing?  Might the SHIELD team not only be losing Morse & Blood, but also killing off some team members as well?

It makes sense, considering Daisy’s Secret Warriors will finally become a thing.  The last thing that series needs is another handful of leads, so culling the current roster is a good way to balance things out.  Besides, it’s not like they haven’t killed off main team members before.  This, more than anything, was piqued my interest about the back half of the current season of “SHIELD“.
