According to THR, none other than Julianne Moore is circling the primary villain role in Kingsman 2. The Fox sequel is slated to begin production in a few months time and are hoping to secure the actress to play the big baddie in the film, although her “busy schedule” could prevent it. Here’s hoping they get their wish, as Moore going Bond villain seems like it would be a ton of fun.
Not much is known about the sequel at this stage, which isn’t too surprising given that the first film already covered the existing Mark Millar & Dave Gibbons source material. The sequel will be paving its own road, which may well have been what enticed director Matthew Vaughn to return to helm it. Kingsman 2 once again comes to us with a script co-penned by Vaughn and longtime writing partner Jane Goldman. Taron Egerton is the only cast member confirmed as returning, but Vaughn has expressed interest in bringing back Colin Firth and Mark Strong as well. Production is slated to begin in April, ahead of a June 16th, 2017 release.
