Fox is tapping into their first look deal with comic publisher BOOM! Studios once more. The studio has hired up-and-comer David Prior to write and direct an adaptation of “The Empty Man“. A supernatural thriller series created by Cullen Bunn & Vanesa R. Del Rey, the 2014 limited comic was set in a midwestern town and focused on a series mysterious disappearances that might have been caused by a supernatural being.
Deadline had the scoop on the project, which will be Prior’s feature-film directorial debut. No timeline has been given for the project. The eventual film will be produced by Adam Yoelin, Ross Richie & Stephen Christy (BOOM! Studos), and Mark Roybal & Ryan Jones (Fox).
