A you down for a road movie-style buddy adventure flick set against an Asgardian acpocalypse that stars Thor and Hulk? Of course you are! According to Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, that might just be what we are getting when Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theaters in November 2017. Sounds like a (space) whale of a time to me!
Ruffalo recently spoke about the film, which lenses later this year, to Empire…
“I feel like that’s kind of where we’re heading with this relationship between Thor and Banner,” Ruffalo explained, adding, “It is a universal road movie — that’s where we’re heading… It’s not where you’d think it will be, so it’s not your classic road movie but it has that structure, I think.
This is what we’re talking about…
I love Chris [Hemsworth], and it’s not an accident that we’ve been put together because we have a good time together and we goof off,” he shared. “The fact that we’re moving towards the smart-comedic bent plays into our relationship.”
Director Taika Waititi is currently overseeing a rewrite of the script, ahead of production later this year. We’re finally starting to get a great look at this particular Phase Three film, what with the Odin business yesterday and the possibility of actress Cate Blanchett joining the project. Here’s hoping we start getting some solid casting information in the next couple months.
