‘Suicide Squad’s’ Harley Quinn is Creepy, Violent, and Crazy!

Warner Bros and DC

There’s no argument that Harley Quinn – Joker’s fun-loving sidekick – is one of the greatest characters in the DC universe. And what’s more insane is that she was created for the awesome “Batman: The Animated Series,” which is quietly streaming on Amazon.

As much as we’re all talking about Batman’s (Ben Affleck) cameo in Suicide Squad, as well as the return of The Joker (now played by Jared Leto), Quinn is the one antagonist that everyone is clamoring for.

Margot Robbie performance looks like lighting in the trailer for the DC Comics adaptation set for release on August 5th. She’s zany, whacky, and dark as fuck – borderline scary.

“Harley is creepy, violent, crazy — all of the things that I aspire to be!” Robbie joked to Cineplex. “No. It’s the fun of living vicariously through someone who is doing things that I would never do in real life.”

Robbie also spoke about reuniting with Focus co-star Will Smith, who stars as Deadshot in the David Ayer-directed superhero film.

“I enjoyed working with Will so, so much that I was overjoyed when I heard that we would be working together again,” she explained. “I actually texted him when I heard he was in negotiations to be in Suicide Squad and kept peer-pressuring him, ‘You’d better be taking this movie!’ He obviously signed on for his own reasons, but I was so incredibly happy that we got to do Round Two. He’s awesome on set and awesome off set. He’s just a really, really good person.”

The trailer for Suicide Squad looks like one of the darkest hero films since Batman Begins. And while that kind of film has become trite and a bore, Suicide Squad‘s edginess feels pretty damn authentic.
