Matt Nable, who portrayed the semi-immortal and formidable Ra’s al Ghul on the third season of “Arrow“, will be reprising that role once more. The actor is slated to return to the role in the ninth episode of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow“. The nature of this reprisal is unclear at this time, but given the time travel trappings of the upcoming CW series, it’d be hard to guess what he’ll be up to and when.
For those not aware, Ra’s was actually killed by Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) during the third season finale of that series, taking his place as the new leader of the League of Assassins through the laws of trial by combat. As per a previous arrangement, the hero then turned control of the League over to his occasional nemesis, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman). This makes Merlyn the current reigning Ra’s al Ghul. Will the Legends’ mucking about through time as they try to put an end to Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) ultimately undo the original Ra’s al Ghul’s death? Or will Nable simply be showcased during a sequence set in the past? I guess we’ll find out not long after the series premieres on January 21st.
Until then, let’s reminisce about how bad things got for Green Arrow when he first faced Ra’s…
