Producer/director Rachel Talalay (Freddy’s Dead, Ghost in the Machine) will be helming an episode of “Supergirl” during the second half of this season. Talalay is probably best known for directing Tank Girl, a wonderful adaptation of the popular Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin comic. She will be directing the 12th episode this season.
Paying her dues throughout the ’80s producing the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and various John Waters films, Talalay worked her way up through the ranks ahead of her directorial debut with the aforementioned Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. She has mostly stuck to television over the past 20 years, helming various episodes of “Supernatural“, “Doctor Who“, “Ally McBeal“, “The Dead Zone“, “Reign“, and many others.
Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, and the rest of the DC TV Universe producing crew have been hiring a lot of known filmmakers lately, in addition to their usual crew of trusted directors. John Badham (Saturday Night Fever), Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone), John Dahl (Rounders), Doug Aarniokoski (Nurse 3D), and Dwight H. Little (Marked For Death) have all tackled episodes for “Arrow“, “The Flash“, and/or “Supergirl” thus far.
