Scott Buck (“Dexter“, “Sex Feet Under“) has been hired as the showrunner for Marvel’s fourth Netflix series, “Iron Fist“. The news was broken earlier by both ComicBook.com and Heroic Hollywood. We have since confirmed it with our own sources. No official timeline is in place for the show’s production, but we’ve heard that Marvel is hoping to shoot this show’s inaugural season sometime after “Luke Cage” wraps shooting on his own freshman season early next year.
A lot of sites have been doom-saying about this series for the past 6 months. By all accounts it was never actually in trouble, just in need of finding a take that all involved were happy with. Now that Buck is in place, the hunt for an actor to portray Iron Fist himself, Danny Rand, continues. We’ve been hearing for awhile now that Marvel TV have been narrowing down their candidates. Hopefully we’ll get more information on that front before the year ends.
When will “Iron Fist” Season 1 arrive on the popular streaming service? It’s hard to say. “Daredevil” Season 2 is currently slated for April 2016 and “Luke Cage” S1 follows after that. I’d say a late 2016/early 2017 debut for Danny Rand’s first outing is likely, but it’s just too early to tell at this point. Until then, here’s the official synopsis…
“Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”
Sorry. No data so far.
