Tom Amandes (“Everwood“, “Scandal“) has been cast as the villainous Noah Kuttler on CW’s “Arrow“. Better known as supervillain The Calculator, Kuttler will debut on the current season’s twelfth episode, “Unchained”, and is slated to appear in two episodes overall. Furthermore, it seems that his arrival is directly tied to the return of former series regular Colton Haynes and his character, Roy Harper.
TV Line describes The Calculator as “a criminal mastermind and technical genius… [who] uses his advanced skills in computer science and internet manipulation to blackmail Roy [Colton Haynes] out of retirement to do his bidding, which leads to an epic battle with Team Arrow.”. A calculating villain indeed, if his arsenal against Green Arrow involves the vigilante’s own former protege. I figured Roy’s return might shake things up a little, but this makes me smile. I’m assuming that Haynes will be on hand for both episodes, just like Amandes. It sounds like we are in for an entertaining two-parter come February, folks!
