Colton Haynes has confirmed that he will be returning to CW’s “Arrow” in at least one episode early next year. The actor, who played Roy Harper (aka Arsenal), bowed out of the series as a regular last season, with the character deciding to start a new life elsewhere. He will be returning for Episode 12, which should air sometime in February. Haynes appeared earlier this year in Dwayne Johnson’s disaster extravaganza, San Andreas.
Despite being helped out a lot in the field early on by friend and compatriot John Diggle, Roy Harper was Oliver’s first real sidekick. His slot has since been filled by not one, but two team members, in the form of Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) and Speedy (Willa Holland). Roy’s return should drum up a bit of drama for the latter, who happens to be Oliver’s sister Thea and Roy’s former love interest. Thea just entered a new relationship with Oliver’s mayoral campaign manager, so a bit of romantic tension might be on deck for this reunion.
