We’re three days away from the premiere of “Jessica Jones” and still basking in the great marketing campaign that Netflix has churned out for it. Not one to rest on their laurels, the popular streaming service has now moved some of its attention over to promotion of their next Marvel series: “Luke Cage“. It’s a tiny teaser, lasting only 15 seconds, but the first step towards setting the tone for Luke’s own show.
The series has only been filming for about a month now, so there’s likely not a lot in the way of actual footage to be shown and won’t be for awhile now. That said, given Cage’s involvement in “Jones“, it makes sense to start building towards his own run, even if only a little. While we don’t have a targeted release for “Luke Cage” just yet, production on it should wrap early next year.
“Luke Cage” marks the third Marvel series for Netflix. The series is spearheaded by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker and stars Mike Colter in the titular role, Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard as “Black” Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Shades, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Frankie Faison in an undisclosed role. The series is expected to premiere in the latter half of 2016.
