Undisputed action star Scott Adkins (Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, Universal Solider: Day of Reckoning) has joined the cast of Marvel’s Doctor Strange in an undisclosed role. Word is that the martial arts phenom will be showcased in a few major action sequences, some of which involve hand-to-hand combat. This isn’t Adkins first brush with superhero cinema, as he played the surgically-altered Weapon XI in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Somehow I think this film will turn out far better than that one did.
Adkins joins a cast that comprised of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Stephen Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Karl Mordo, Michael Stuhlberg as Dr. Nicodemus West, and Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One. Rachel McAdams and Amy Landecker also star. Scott Derrickson (Sinister) directs the film, which arrives in cinemas on November 4th, 2016. It will be the second release in what Marvel refers to as Phase Three and the fourteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe overall. The project is currently filming in London
