While this confirmation will likely come as a shock to no one, it’s nice to have it anyway. Simon Kinberg, who is deeply involved with both the X-Men franchise and the upcoming Star Wars rebirth, has stepped up to the plate and confirmed that the first official teaser for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse will debut in front of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fans have been watching bootlegs of the Comic-Con teaser for the film for months now and will have to remain doing so for a little over a month longer.
“I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It’s our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it’s certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it.”
This means that we will likely be getting a double-dose of Marvel in front of the latest Star Wars saga entry. Granted they will be coming from two different studios, but that just adds to the fun of it. Yes, folks, the current scuttlebutt is that our first teaser for The Russo Bros.’ Captain America: Civil War will also be arriving in front of The Force Awakens. Again, no shock there. Not only will it be the biggest film seeing release for the rest of this year, but it’s also likely to prove the biggest film of the year in general. Placing the first teasers for their early Summer tentpoles at the start of it is a no-brainer as far as both Fox and Marvel Studios are concerned.
