Singer/actress Mariah Carey has joined the voice cast of The Lego Batman Movie, a spin-off of Phil Lord & Chris Miller’s The Lego Movie. Initially announced as playing Commissioner Gordon, she will in fact be portraying the Mayor of Gotham instead. Given the musical nature of its predecessor, I have no doubt that Ms. Carey will be showcasing her singing talents in the role. She joins a cast that already includes Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth.
In other news, actor Ken Marino (“Party Down“, Bad Milo) was recently added to the roster for ABC’s second season of “Agent Carter“. Marino will be bring mob boss Joseph Manfredi, leader of the Maggia crime syndicate, to life on the series. The Maggia will be lending a helping hand to Peggy’s foes in the upcoming L.A.-based season. I don’t know about you, but I look forward to seeing Hayley Atwell wail on Marino and his goons.
