Fox is once again attempting a remake of the early ’80s TV series “Greatest American Hero“. A pilot order has been given for the potential redo of the original ABC series and the project is now on the hunt for a lead. As with the last time this was attempted a few years back, this revival is the brainchild of Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Tawnia McKiernan.
The three of them, along with Seth Cohen, will executive produce the show if it goes to series. Director/writer Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) is also involved and will presumably direct the pilot, so even if he doesn’t land the Black Panther gig at Marvel, he’ll still be playing in the superhero sandbox a little. The original series involved an everyman who is given a superpowered suit and must deal with all of the new issues that such an event brings with it.
