The final chapter of the groundbreaking Clive Barker’s Next Testament Vol. 3 is here. Horror fans will be satisfied with the unforgettable conclusion of this epic masterpiece. Perfect with its illustrations and storytelling, you truly have read how the “Next Testament” series landed twice on Bloody-Disgusting’s Best of 2013 and Best of 2014 List.

Next Testament Vol. 3

ART BY: Haemi Jang

RELEASE: September 30, 2013

After dominating the entire human race, the only thing left for the all-powerful Wick to do is to destroy everything. After witnessing the best and worst of humanity, do the lovebirds, Tristan and Elspeth, have the strength to save the world? Just seconds away from extinction, can these two would-be heroes push themselves to make the ultimate sacrifice? Their last resource of help may come from the person they least expect, the Devil himself.

I love how writers Clive Barker and Mark Alan Miller have a crafted a thought-provoking and entertaining narrative. Tristan represents the everyman’s never-ending quest to understand faith and God. Can you still believe in a higher power, even if you cannot make sense of it? Or is having blind faith the same as falling in love? Miller’s moving dialogue steers readers towards a heartfelt and deep resolution.

Artist Haemi Jang brings in the action and emotion as Wick, the Devil and the Holy Ghost have their climatic confrontation. The battle sequences, which transcend from the earth to the stars, are visually impressive as Jang captures the intensity in these riveting two-pagers. Everything leads to a painter-like splash page that must be framed.

This critic wasn’t lying when he said that the “Next Testament” series defined horror comics in 2014. You gotta love what Barker does with female protagonists too. Elspeth starts out as the quirky girlfriend and her arc concludes with her becoming the badass type.

If you have the first and second volumes, then you have to add “Clive Barker’s Next Testament” Vol. 3 to your collection. There’s nothing like capping a great ending to your favorite book.
