Birth.Movies.Death ran a piece earlier today covering a handful of odd, seemingly random pictures from the Twitter account of the directorial duo The Russo Bros. Currently in-production on Captain America: Civil War (2016) and slowly prepping their one-two super-punch of Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (2018) and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 (2019), the Russos are deep in Marvel territory and will be for years to come. And it seems they are passing the time each day by teasing fans with vague shots from the Civil War set. Is Spidey glimpsed within?
What are in these teases? Most seem ordinary. Someone brandishing a flashlight in a dark room. What looks like part of a chair or a piece of equipment. Painted or printed numbers on clothing or equipment. A few are rather interesting, however. Chiefly among them are these three…
Birth.Movies.Death posits that the first are teases of Spider-Man’s costume in the film and according to what we are hearing on our end, they are likely correct. The third appears to be a logo for “The Accords”, Civil War‘s version of the Superhuman Registration Act. The logo appears to specifically say “The Sokovia Accords” and probably deals with a world hearing on the Sokovia incident that occurred in Age of Ultron.
The moral of the story here is that we should all be paying closer attention to that Twitter account from here on out. While we’re unlikely to get full looks at things, it’s certainly a fun way to interact with the filmmakers between now and the film’s eventual traditional marketing campaign next year. Perhaps if we are lucky, we might even get something more concrete at Disney’s own convention, D23, next month?
In the meantime, check out the other shots below…
