Actor Echo Kellum will join the cast of “Arrow” as Curtis Holt, a Palmer Technologies employee who will eventually become the superhero Mr. Terrific. The actor previously appeared on series such as “Ben & Kate” and “Sean Saves The World” and will join “Arrow” sometime in the fall. His addition comes alongside the already-announced Neal McDonough as season villain Damien Darhk.
In the comics, Mr. Terrific was a member of the Justice Society of America and had taken up his heroic crusade after the deaths of his wife and child. Executive producer Greg Berlanti has already revealed that their version of Mr. Terrific will be gay, but here’s hoping the background is retained nonetheless. “The Flash” has already wonderfully dealt with a gay couple in a casual manner. Having Holt grieve over the loss of his husband and child would be a great way to carry that same attitude over to “Arrow“.
Casting is flying hard and fast out of the DC shows on CW right now. This is the third bit of casting we have had this week, with the others coming on “The Flash” end of things (here and here). There’s at least one new role that we are aware of on “Arrow” that has yet to be cast (the villain Anarky) and likely a slew of others as well. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop!
