Ask and ye shall receive! Not long ago I said I expected the role of supervillain Anarky to be cast soon on “Arrow” and the announcement is already here. Alexander Calvert (‘The Returned”, “Bates Motel”) has been cast on the hit CW superhero series as Lonnie Machin, “a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” Calvert’s Anarky is expected to be a recurring role on the series and will debut in the upcoming fourth season’s second episode.
The character debuted in “Detective Comics” in the late ’80s and has often been a thorn in the side of Batman and other DC heroes. Calvert joins the already-cast Echo Kellum as superhero Mr. Terrific and veteran character actor Neal McDonough as season baddie Damien Darhk. “Arrow” returns this October on The CW.
