Could Wesley Snipes Become ‘Blade’ Once Again? #SDCC

Update: ‘Blade’ is currently with Marvel TV and sources say that they have indeed met with Wesley Snipes about the possibility of him reprising the role.

Deadline caught up with actor Wesley Snipes at the San Diego Comic Con to discuss his role in the TV series The Player as well as hitting a topic that many horror fans will be excited for, the possibility of another Blade movie!

Snipes explains the current status of a Blade 4, stating:

The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.

When asked if he might enter the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe in other ways, he replied:

That’s a possibility too. I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I’d be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t to a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else. We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful. The first season of The Player will be interesting as well because we have drama and action, which is what I like. It gives me a chance to do a number of different things.

I’ve heard rumours that the plan for Blade is to put him in another group film as in Midnight sons or teaming him up with other supernatural based characters that Marvel owns as either a Netflix series or a feature film, and from what I’ve read online he didn’t like being in a team movie, but I hope they do get him to come back, he was the originator for my love of Blade and one of the reasons I think the comic book films are doing as well as they are. A Netflix series seems likeliest.
